New York, NY, October 22, 2020—INCLUDEnyc is launching a free online class for New York City families, Understanding Special Education Options, on InsideSchools+.

The class, which is free, asynchronous, and mobile-friendly, will give NYC families the tools they need to identify the special education services and programs that are the right fit for their child.

“Through InsideSchools+, INCLUDEnyc will reach thousands more young people with disabilities and their families with special education information and resources, which is critical given the challenging school year ahead,” said Executive Director Barbara Glassman. “Thanks to InsideSchools+, we can give parents and caregivers the critical information they need to advocate and connect their child to the programs and services they need to make progress.”

“We’re elated to be hosting this class and to have collaborated with INCLUDEnyc to expand access with this informative class. Our new InsideSchools+ community is about making it easier than ever for NYC families to support each other and to get superlative guidance from experts at INCLUDEnyc,” said Tom Liam Lynch, editor in chief of InsideSchools and education policy director at The New School’s Center for New York City Affairs (CNYCA).

This free class is available now only on InsideSchools+. To learn more on how to move forward on the special education program of your choice, call the INCLUDEnyc Help Line at 212-677-4660 (English) or 212-677-4668 (español).
