During this workshop, families will learn how to: identify and expand on their child’s emotional vocabulary, utilize calming strategies to help their child cope with challenging feelings in building regulation skills, and engage in joint problem solving with their child.

Many students benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices such as a speech generating device or tablet running specialized software. Learn the process of obtaining a device and getting it properly programmed Also, discover how to expand its use across settings and common practical uses. We will also discuss key questions to bring to the school team, such as how often devices are reprogrammed, home use, and who is responsible for the upkeep.
