Annual Benefit Brings Accessible Entertainment to Chelsea Piers

(New York, NY)—INCLUDEnyc will capture the wonder of a carnival with the Circus Fun for Families fundraiser, a unique event that will feature Omnium Circus, a diverse troupe of performers with and without disabilities, on Saturday, June 25 from 11 AM to 2 PM at Chelsea Piers.

“INCLUDEnyc’s mission is to provide all families with equal access to services, support, and advocacy. Circus Fun is a powerful demonstration of our commitment to diversity and inclusion through accessible entertainment for the whole family,” said Owen P.J. King, Chair of the Board for INCLUDEnyc. “This event will also raise funds to ensure that INCLUDEnyc programs remain free of charge as we continue to help young people realize possibilities that may once have seemed out of reach.”

Circus Fun for Families is an afternoon filled with carnival games, as well as stilt-walkers, jugglers, face painters, acrobats, and other artists from Omnium Circus, the first all-inclusive circus company in the United States.

Omnium Circus will showcase Rik Daniels, a seven-time NCAA gymnast champion and winner of the National Tango Competition. Rik is also a wheelchair user who seamlessly integrates balancing skills into his performance.

“At INCLUDEnyc, we enhance the lives of young people with disabilities through free programs that help families foster inclusion and independence,” said Diana Breen, Interim Executive Director at INCLUDEnyc. “Omnium performers embody our mission to help youth find greater confidence in who they are and what they can accomplish.”
