This training promotes student participation in the development of a transition-focused IEP and parent involvement in the transition planning process. Families and professionals will identify key components of high-quality transition-focused IEPs and a transition planning process that supports positive post-school outcomes. Participants will identify the components needed to develop and write Measurable Postsecondary Goals and coordinated activities. The relationship between Transition Needs and the development of Annual Goals to support the student toward achieving postsecondary goals will also be explained.
