This training explores the recommendation and implementation of quality special education services for all students with disabilities. The modules in this training provide CPSE and CSE chairpersons with best practices for engaging in the CPSE/CSE process and for the role of chairperson that are consistent with New York State law and regulation.
Module 2 will address the Board of Education’s (BOE) role in identifying all students with disabilities, the sequence of events, and the CPSE/CS responsibilities and the specific procedures for referral and consent. Participants will also learn about the required components for parent communication and collaboration, including Prior Written Notice (PWN).
